The National Old Catholic Church

Archbishop Daniel McKenney

The National Old Catholic Church and its parishes are among the many independent Catholic Churches having Apostolic Succession. That is, our Bishops can trace their consecration to one or more of the Apostles. Thus our Clergy, Eucharist and Sacraments are recognized as "valid" by Rome. We are called The National Old Catholic Church of Washington D.C.

Our liturgies, Eucharist, and the seven sacraments: Seasonal feasts and special occasions are celebrated as a faith community with great joy, using language, color, music, candles, silence and incense as determined by the Church's liturgical seasons, in the Catholic tradition of the people of God

We are a tolerant and caring faith community, whose doors, hearts, and minds are open to all God's people without reserve. We affirm that every human, without distinction, is created in God's image and has a claim on the love and pastoral care of Christ's Church. We are dedicated to the worship and spiritual nourishment of all God's people.

In this church, the traditional and the contemporary mingle; the human and the spiritual are joined; prejudice and hatred are shunned; diversity and individual talent are always welcome in The National Old Catholic Church.
